Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti(born November 12, 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now One Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to get a flawless score of 10 during the Olympic event. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci as she was only seven years old. Comaneci participated for the first time in the national junior championships, placing 13th. The following year she won the title of champion. In her first international competition in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior event for countries of the communist bloc she won three gold medals. In 1973 and 1974 she became an the all-around junior champion. When she competed for the first time at a senior level Lyudmila Turkishcheva from Russia took home five gold medals aswell being awarded a silver. The year was 1976 when she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympics. She also was the first female ever to remove the bars in parallel with a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment field as a performer as figure skater. Along with her brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol started her professional career as an entertainer when she was in her teenage years. The path she took to success began with her joining Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling performance. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performance.
